Cad pro 7 mic kit....

I've got a friend who wants to get these mics but asked me to do a little research for him...

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ess?sku=270749

I've never tried em but I read the reviews anf they seem to range from "they absolutely suck" to "awesome for the price".

Anyone have experience with em?

Oh.......and he's a cheapskate....

They're probably fine for live work, though I haven't used them.

I've used them for recording a little. I mean I'm new to the recording scene so for a beginners budget they worked out really nicely. I'm still working on my drum tuning to get a good sound before I start laying down some real tracks but I had some stuff of my other kit. For live stuff they should be pretty good too. I mean come on, 7 mics for 199?
Although I don't use the tom mics anymore cuz i have 5 toms and not enough inputs on my recorder to use them so I just let the overheads take care of that dirty work for me. All in all, I like 'em.

well, strangely i have a few cad mics for drums but they aren't in that kit (the kbm412 and tsm411), the kbm412 works surprisingly well on kick drum and the tsm aint bad on snare for live use
