hip hop redrums tips ideas

In feel that in hip hop the drum sound is very important the fatter the better, beatsbuy gave me some very coool ideas, lets put ideas here on how to get a hip hop sounding drum track on redrum.

I added scream 4 distorion on drums and got some great results.


Whos got IDEAS & TIPS??

Layer the drums. i always have like 3 bass drums and 3 snares.
compression helps. eq the low end.
do whatever sounds good. theres no mold to make hip-hop.

Make a fast decay reverb and add a small amount to the drums ON EACH TRACK. This will fatten the drums. Also play with the "BEND" to make new effects. Play with the attak... Also, press the TAB key and on the back patch each track to the mixer and EQ each track... Make you own kicks. Put one regular kick, Hat, Cym, and play the keys all at once. LAYER!
