Question BR-8 Queastion about coverting files from Wav to BR8

I am on my 3rd BR-8. I love the unit - Hate the glitches -

I have the free BR-8/WAV converter software. I have no problems converting my finished pieces from BR8 to wav - However, when I try to upload a wav file on to a br8 formatted ZIP (100mg). I get a message on my computer that says
" Thie media is write protected"

- and obviously the wave file does not convert
- the actual disc is not locked ( shiny hole is not covered)
- I have been through all the parameters on the BR8 - The disc is "Unlocked"
- I have tried Drag & Drop on Br8 formated discs & unformated discs

I know that somehow it is possible because
recently I came accross a download to upgrade the unit

http://www.blamepro.com/mwn/BR-8/HowTo4.htm

and the readme text says to copy the file on to a BR8 formated disc (in your computer's zip drive) HELP Thanks Katy

Katy ... this may/may not help you ... but it just might be worth a try. Assuming you have both a computer and an extra zip disc ... try copying all of the contents of the disk to another disk that has been initialized. And then try to write to that disk. I do this all the time ... back-n-forth, so yes, it should work w/o any problems.

May I ask why this is your 3rd BR8? Are your wearing them out. I'm sure the unit won't last forever, but it should last for a number of years. I've had my first one for about 5 years now, and all I've done is replaced the zip drive to a 250 when the first one went 'south'.

I hope this helps.

Cheers! Peter
