Yea this is my boy Black Angel... we recorded this a while back but im interested in what ya'll think of him... I mixed the track (my first mix ever), so if you want you can give me input on that too... its his first recorded track, and my first attempt at mixing... peep it:

it wasn't bad, but wasnt all too special either. A pretty good mix, although not very cohesive (im guessing this hasnt been mastered at all?)

I think what dude is sayin is, that his flow kinda sounds like he's jus readin his lyrics vs. actually spittin em. (Not literally). He jus kinda lacks that presence in his flow that says, "IM HEAR" know what Im sayin? His first few lines jus set off the wrong vibe for what it feels the track and vocals should bring. DUnno, if that makes since. I look at it like this, when emcees gonna drop, they gotta get their vocals into charater, meaning they (most anyway) have to emphisize certain words and express puch lines and phrases. Dude has his point and his message there, its jus the delivery doesnt seem to bring it threw. His vocal presence doesnt pull me into what he's sayin..

I agree with it sounds like he's reading and has no emotion in his words. If you're going to read it do a dry run of it and see where you can put more feeling into the lyrics. I can see possibility for that and making it a nice verse along with the beat.

Just felt like the beat was live and in your face and the lyrics didn't match it.

I agree with what was said previously, Dud doesn't sound believalbe.

As far as the mix. The music mix is good, but the vocls could use some work. Did you record it too. Your boy should try doubling up his verse, and I didn't hear any ad lids either. Also you might want to add just a touch of reverb so his vocals can sit a little better on the track.

Can't disagree with the previous replies... Dude has no emotion, and brings no life to the track. It's a nice beat, and the mix isn't bad.

ight thanks for your replies... i can see where ya'll are coming from with the emotion aspect... i think it is just that song though... since then we have recorded a few other tracks and they seem to have more emotion... ill post them soon and see what ya'll think... pz
