What do you listen to?

What type of music, and who do you listen to outside of hip hop?

Me, I listen to a wide variety of things, definitely a lot of soul, like Ohio Players, The Meters, Sly Stone, some rare Kool and the Gang, and rare Marvin Gaye. Some classic rock, like CCR(Creednece Clearwater Revival), Van Halen, Billy Squire, and Aerosmith. Some Blues like BB King, and Clarence Clemons, And some other ish like traditional music from other countries like Thailand, Arabia, Perisa, and Hindi music.

Outside of hip hop I listen to oldies, like Four Tops, Temptations, Commodores, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, the list goes on with that. Also since I like instrumentals so much, I take a good liking to classical music. It really relaxes you and gets you in the inspirational mood if you sit down an let it. You might notice some of that influenced in some of my beats. Damn, I even listen to some disco. I'm picky about it but some songs were actually decent (some were actually bullshit). Hmmm, I liked a lot of music from the 70's, 90's, and about half of the new stuff today. The 80's didn't grab me as much. I like some of it but a lot of it just wasn't me.

For me, my ears are always open. I mix and master so I hear music from rock, jazz, R&B, to Hip Hop. I like putting everything that inspires me in my productions. Cause different genres of music came from something else. Look back, blues went to rock... Rock to metal... Rock and blues to disco... Then disco sampled into hip hop... so on, and so on... Hip Hop sampling went into house music and dance went to trance.......

Man, and now you have rock with big drums and hip hop verses. And dance with hip hop verses too..
