I am trying to record midi drum tracks in Digital Pertformer 4.12 from the YamahaDTExpress II electronic drum kit, but am having no luck. The unit has a midi out jack but it does not seem to be sending any info at all to my interface (motu midi express 128). (I have it correctly configured in DPs audio/midi setup - I think) but the 128 midi input it is attached to does not even light up showing it is receiving midi data. I know it works (the 128) because it receives data from my keyboard just fine. I was hoping to map each pad to its own channel and then assign these to various samples in either stylus or battery. The Yamaha manual is worthless of course. Is it possible to do this with this kit?
Any info would be appreciated from people who are familiar with these products. Thanks, James |

Seems like you need to find the "MIDI output" mode in the brain. Otherwise it will use the MIDI input from the pads to use internal sounds.
Think simple. The major problem with Yamaha manuals is that they are written by foreigners. |
