How do I set up a "input" buss on a track?
I am trying to set up an buss on the input side of a track so I can route the signal thru a compressor before it is recorded on the track. Can this be done? I have figured out how to do on the output side(duh), but the input setup eludes me, and the help file for this program has much to be desired.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Moptop |

There's no input bus. It's rarely a good thing to use any kind of effect or process on incoming audio as it can't be changed afterwards.
If you want to compress the audio on the input side, use a hardware compressor prior to the soundcard - it's the soundcard's input which you are wanting to avoid clipping. Once digitised to 32 bits with a 1500dB dynamic range, compression isn't required unless as an effect on the output side. |

thanks again
Once again I thank you for your help & response. I see that I'm not the only one who frequents more than one BBS.
