yamaha boards

i hope in in the right forum. theres a bunch of yamaha boards out there with transformers at the inputs. i own a m512 and it sounds great!! my question is which boards are the best and how does each compare to neves and api's? is there a good source on how to rack these? thanks!!

I have used a LOT of Yamaha consoles (and even the m512 on numerous occasion). I have NEVER confused their preamps with Neve or API!

I haven't used a Neve or API board, but I think you are talking apples and oranges. From what I hear Yamaha has some pretty decent boards, even with the MG series, but Neve, API, Trident....I think it is a different ballgame, from what I have read anyway.
