Cool guitar sound - it has a great vibrato. Nice effects/echo too on lead guitar. Reminds me of some British music from the 70's that I used to listen to. Drums are nicely mixed too. All well played/sung. I like the vocals eq the way they are - they occupy their own space nicely and have that "sound" that suits this style of music.....

On my speakers the vocals are hard to understand in the mix, sounds like they could be raised a few dB.
Nice guitar work throughout and good feel.
Some more low end might sound cool... maybe on the drums...or reverb on the drums

Hey Peopleperson,

The songwriting is good, very easy to follow!
The lead guitar has maybe just a we tad too much echo/reverb applied. I like the effect, it just loses clarity when consecutive notes are played close to each other!
The bass I couldn't really decipher, I would bring the bass up in the mix as well as the vocals, slightly.
The drums sound a little boxy (kick) and the snare I would boost the mids slightly.

Overall I liked the tune, I enjoyed listening. My criticism is intended to be constructive!

I agree with Gorty re: the rev/echo on the guitar line- it's more of a space rock effect to my ears as opposed to the new wave feel to the rest of the song. I mean I like the guitar line - just not the extent of the effect. Is it the gtr effect that tags after the song? A bit like a whoopie cushion sound just after the song finished.

Thanks to all of you for the nice words. I agree that I was a little too cautious on the bass. I just got a new 60's tube pre, used it for the bass and all of a sudden had a ton of low end that I hadn't had before, so I think I was a bit too cautious. I put the huge verb in there because the part that it's over is bone dry with the spaces so I knew I could get away with it, might have been a tad too much. The cymbal swell at the tail end that's in the whole song sporatically is in there to cover up a few editing clicks. I played all the guitars, which are all straight line in through an 80's Boss processor that I love, played the bass through a very old tube pre and programmed the drums which are BFD. Anyone fooled?

Cool tune. You might try dropping the guitar volume just a little, as it might clear up some of the extra verb on it, and give the vocals just a bit more space, yet keep them in line. Drums sound pretty good. They don't have a real mechanical sound like a machine, so that is cool.
