Sabian B8 Thin Crash w/ Reverse Bell?

Hi, I just got a Sabian B8 Thin Crash from Ebay, and I guess I didn't notice from the pictures, but when it got here the bell was inverted. I looked on the Sabian website and the pic and cross section they have shows a normal bell for this cymbal. Is mine an older one or the result of some crazy DIY modification?
Anyway, it sounds fine, just looks a little weird. Here's a link to the auction if you want to see the pics.

That cymbal is "bent"? Someone must've stepped on it and flipped the convex part of the cymbal to concave. It's not supposed to be like that. I'd flip it back if I were you.. but if you're happy with it don't worry about it.

No, it doesn't look damaged at all. If someone did "flipped" it at one time, they did a fine job because it looks like it was made like that. I gave it a little pressure, but the cymbal is pretty rigid and I don't think I'd be able to flip it back without stretching or cracking part of it.

It's flipped. The B8 logo should be facing up when it's on the stand.. with the bell. The rest of the cymbal should be going down. It should NOT be like a bowl.

I said that it was most likely stepped on because it takes a bit of force to flip it back. It won't crack.. but it will stress the cymbal. It's not a matter of "doing a good job"... cymbals can flip like that with the right amount of pressure. They don't have any other way to go.

I gotta admit, I'm very fricking nervous about trying to flip it back. I think you're right though, since I can't find ANYTHING about a flipped bell version of this cymbal, and the "underside" of the cymbal is the one with all the stick marks. I guess I'll give it a shot tonight....

Lol, I can't believe that worked!!!! I had to put quite a bit of force on it and just when I was going to give up outta fear of warping the cymbal permanently, Bowowowowow! It flipped itself right over, in perfect shape. It sounds better now too, definitely deeper and darker.

Seems unlikely, but could it have happened during shipping, since stick marks are on the "bottom"?

No, the pics on the auction definitely show the reversed bell if you look closely. I just didn't notice before bidding. Oh well, all is good.

I stepped on lots of cymbals when I was younger, heh. They always flip back.
