faking a song booth

Hi
I live in a really small apartement so i cant really afford spending to much space for a song booth (or an isolated closet, as i have read about in here). But i was thinking of maybe hanging a really heavy blanket (is this the right word) in one corner, that way making a "song booth" that would isolate the mic to some extend.

Do you think this would be worth the effort.

Whoops, realized this is off topic. Should probably have posted in "recording techniques" or something.
Anyway, found this thread: http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=181729

If he can do it that way, my way should work just as well.
