Tascam or M-Audio
Hey,
I had posted a similar thread to this in another forum and I figured I'd put it here too. I have a Tascam DM-24 Digital Mixer and go straight from that via ADAT Lightpipe into Sonar 4. I'm not very experienced, but I think the quality is good, but again, I don't have many points of reference for "good". Do you all think recording quality would improve if I used something like an M-Audio Octane or other preamp (Focusrite ISA's) and didn't use the preamps on the DM-24 mixer. I figure my mic (Shure KSM 32) would be better, but how about keyboard (Kurzweil K-2600). I've heard using these types of pres are good for line level signals too. I monitor on Tannoy Proto J's and an Alesis RA-100 amp, and use an Emu 1202 PCI card. I appreciate the advice, Donny |
