A new song to listen to

http://www.mooheadradio.com/archives/nextyear2.wma

We kept this in .wma format, because the mp3 was crunching out a lot of the guitar reflections.

Best listened to using WMP with headset. We welcome all comments.

Any comments would be helpful. We worked hard to try to improve over previous efforts, and would like some guidance. Thanks.

musically not too bad, the fake drums take away from the song a lot.
The singer has an incredibly low bass voice. I personally think its not what the song calls for neccesarily, due to the song's lightness and quickness.
If the singer can sing one octave higher, I would like to hear it. I think it would sound more suitable, but to each his own.

Just my 2 cents.

We're a 2 man team. I write the songs and sing. My collaborator GS does all the guitar work and a lot of the arranging.

We don't have a drummer, but would LOVE to have live drums.

My vocals are range limited and an acquired taste to be sure. I can sing higher, but on this song it sounded strained. Most songs I write are vocalized originally by me, but turned over to vocalists for different interpretation.

Thanks for your comments. We appreciate the input.

No problem.

i didn't mean that the singers voice was bad or anything. Its quite strong and solid, actually. But, the instrumentation of the song somehow gave me the idea that the vox and music didn't quite fit together, but as I listen on to it, I am used to it and it doesn't really bother me as much.

I still dig the instrumentation! Good work.

The female backing vocals in the middle of the song were done with the Vocaloid Lola software. I find it decent for this purpose..not lead vocals!! Although she sings better pitch than I do!

Hats of to GS for his axe work. He's a real keeper.
