record monitoring
hi there,
i am trying to do some vocal recording into acid. i am fine with getting signal, etc., but my question is about monitoring during the recording. what happens is i am hearing the master mix in stereo but my incoming vocal/guitar only comes back panned hard to the left (which is the channel i am using from the mic pre...) after the recording is finished i get the vocal (or guitar) track playing back in the center and i can pan at will. however i cannot get the vocal track to be in the center while i am monitoring the recording in real time. i guess if i had a mixer i could figure out a work around, but right now i am limited to my indigo io laptop soundcard... is there a way to send the incoming recorded signal through another bus or something in order to be able to adjust pan/volume? in the past i used a tascam 788 which had a seperate cue mix for this type of stuff...anything similar in acid 5.0? ps- tried to read the manual but couldn't find an answer, and i also realize that acid is not necessarily optimized for audio recording. just wondering if i am missing something... thanks peace |
