Problems with DR 770

I've had my dr 770 for several years and never had a problem with it, until recently. The machine does not want to stay in sync with my gear. It plays for a few bars and then I get an error message and it stops playing. It does some other odd behavior as well. Such as, it will play in sync with my gear and then all of sudden start playing off beat. The owners manul says nothing about this, cept, send it off. Not worth, but, was jus wondering if any has had this problem, if so, where you able to fix it and how.

I've checked all my midi set ups on all my gear, its been the same setting I've always used. So that is more or less ruled out. And the machine will still fail to work properly even when I run it w/o being trigged by another midi device.

I was curious if the battery inside was waring down, if this could cause the problem as well. I know its mainly to keep memory, but, ya never know..

I haven't had the prob yet with mine (A 770) but know two people who have. (One has a 550 and the other a 770) Battery replacement fixed both but I can't tell ya why. Maybe it was the reset of the OS back to defaults. Perhaps use the system reset as a first resort? Sorry I couldn't be more help, Dave.

Coo. Thanx. It would be worth the cost to at least try and replace the battery to see if that fixes the problem vs. ruling the machine completely damaged.. P
