Question problem with insert jacks

watsup, i have aproblem with the insert jack on my mackie board
i am running cables pushed in one click into the inserts then running into my converters, the problem is that on just one insert the cable doesnt make reliable contact and i end up recording nothing on that track, then ill wiggle it and it will show a small amount of signal, its driving me insane
can some help me out

I'm in and out of my inserts (heh heh, no pun, honest!) all the time with my VLZ, never had a glitch. If nothing else go to the Mackie-specific forums at http://forums.mackie.com/scripts/forum/ultimatebb.cgi , those guys are ALL about Mackie...

I believe if you disconnect the wire to the ring on a stereo 1/4 jack so that only the tip and sleeve are used you will be able to plug it all the way in. It will work the same as a mono jack except the sleeve won't ground out the other pin[ring] on the mixer input.
