Scott Dorsey Modded LD Condenser Mic

...I just committed to purchase another custom built mic (I couldn't help myself ), so this mic (one of my favorites) has to go...professionally modded by Tim Harbin (known affectionately on this site as "Flatpicker"), this Cascade M20 is a prime example of the improvements that a well-designed circuit (Scott Dorsey's own Kludge Audio PCB was used) and high quality components (chosen by Tim who is well-versed in these type of modifications) coupled with a very capable capsule can do for the OEM Chinese LD condenser mic...

...here's how Tim described the modification in a recent thread concerning the Dorsey modification, "I liked it a lot. It basically opens up the sound, kind of like if you pulled some cotton out of your ears. It causes the circuit to become mostly transparent so that you are mainly just hearing the capsule. The results are very similar to the Oktava MC012 mod, if you’ve done that. The only reason I sold it was because I was (am) a little hard up for some spending money and already had another MXL with the same type circuit."

...here's the archived link to Dorsey's own comments on the modding process and results:

...I've taken great care with this microphone, stored in my air-conditioned, smoke-free studio...I will include a proper shock-mount and storage pouch...this mic was used as a reference source in Tim's article for Mojo Pie concerning the Oktava MK319:
http://www.mojopie.com/mk319.html

...this mic has a slightly "coloured" rich tone and does well on both vocals and instrument miking applications...the M20 sells for around $130. before modification...I am offering this one with the Scott Dorsey mod, shock-mount, and storage pouch for just $150. shipping included (continental US)...

...so why buy an OEM mic when for the same money, you can own a custom-modded one-of-a-kind LD condenser microphone...Tim may even throw in an autographed pic (I haven't asked him about that just yet... )

...any questions, PM me or email me at kidvybes@hotmail.com

You crack me up, lol! Looks like a great deal - someone better grab it (The mic, that is. The picture would be totally worthless unless you need something to keep the crows out of your garden.)
