i read on this site that you should never plug any kind of mic into the mic input for any serious musical recording.
i was just wandering where you would put it then? get an adapter and connect it to the joystick/midi input? just curious oh yeah and those $20 "vocal mics at circuit city suck just as much as radio shack and wal-mart mics dont they? what kind of mics are cheap, have decent results, and connect to a comp, is it essential to connect it to a preamp first? are there no mics that can connect directly to the pc? please answer my questions thanx |

As a decent inexpensive mic try the Shure SM58 - somewhere around $100 ($150 CDN). I'm not sure what to advise for a cheap, but usable mic pres... Maybe look at Behringer - some people use ART... someone else comment???
