WTF is the deal with "wat". Couldn't just about anyone with any english skills at all see that "wat" looks like "bat" "rat" "cat" therefore would be pronounced the same and obviously wouldn't be what you were going for which is "what". I don't ever slam rappers, to me its an art, though I"m not into it, and should be treated as one but its amazing how many "rappers" use "wat" in place of "what". These are words you learn at a very young age and even in poorly educated areas shouldn't be a problem. I can understand mispelling, most of us do it, but mispelling some of the first words you learn in english class and purposely mispelling other words is just uncalled for. I'm sorry for ranting but rappers need to learn to spell, and they need to start with the common words, I vote for correcting "wat" first. After all, rappers are supposed to have a superior grasp of words so that at anytime they can be at their disposal. Mos Def comes to mind as a man with a superior grasp of the english language in relation to other rappers., wish more rappers could be like him.

I think I very well may kill the next person I see substitute a number for a letter or word, like 2 for 'to' and 4 in place of 'for'. The funny thing about that is that the syllables being replaced are hardly longer than the numbers replacing them. Is it that much faster to type 2 instead of 'to'? Seeing as you have to consciously think "oh, I could use 2 instead of to here", I would probably actually be slower.

This could have interesting results, since my boss also does that in his code and (horror of horrors) in e-mails to customers. Sometimes I really wonder what he's thinking...

Not too long ago there was actually a similar discussion on another board around this re: why would you type "the bay" if typing "ebay" is so much quicker?

We call it "kiddy speak" , it originated with young teen girls needing to abbreviate words so that they could hold multiple backstab conversations on MSN messanger sometimes up to 10 people at the same time.

A seasoned teen can ask out and dump 5 boyfriends while describing the details to 3 other girls and googling the chemical equasion for photosynthesis all in under 8 seconds ! and all from the comfort of their barby bedrooms at 2am in the morning

I'm sorry for ranting but rappers need to learn to spell, and they need to start with the common words, I vote for correcting "wat" first.

Coupon...why do some people pronounce it "Kyoop-on" you don't say "waiter, there's a fly in my Syoop" so why would you say "Kyoop" instead of "coop". I think most guys in cowboy hats look dorky...especially if the had is waaay bigger than their head. I think blonde hair dye should be banned. There are so many of them that blonde hair doesn't stand out in a crowd anymore. I think people with hammer toe (bones stickin out sharply from their instep) and people with that elongated crooked "evolution toe" , should never wear sandals...and guys in general should never wear them ever. I think seniors should have to take their driving test over periodically.

Man am I tired...

That would be interesting to hear.

Of course, I live in Muzura, where no one knows how to talk!! Hell, they can't even pronounce the name of the state!
