the Best Mesa boogie bass amp for screamo/metal

My friend and i are going down to guitar center on thursday too check out the Mesa Bass amps..we are starting a screamo/metal band and we are having a hard time deciding which amp would go best with our music..has anyone have any personal experiance with the 400+? or any experiance with the Big block 750? and is Mesa the way to go with our Music or ampeg better? thank you

400+ sounds fucking great. Re-tubing it would be EXPENSIVE though.

I woud recommend you look at a Mesa Boogie Triaxis. You can get any Mesa tone out of it including the Dual Rectifier and Mark IV etc. Metallica use them, so does Petrucci and a host of other top players. You can pick one up for about $800 on Ebay but you will have to plug it into a speaker or cab (it comes as a single rack unit). I recorded all parts of the track in my sig file with the Triaxis by going direct into a DI box then into ProTools... just click if you want to see what it sounds like.
