And no, BPM mics aren't hand made in Germany; at least a good portion I know aren't for sure.

Also:
Look at the TCM 1100. It has 797 Audio CR100\MXL V77\ADK A-51TC witten all over it.

Look at the CM 90. It has 797 Audio CR1-4\MXL 600\BPM CR-4N written all over it.

Lastly:
Look at the 980. Does the housing and grill look formiliar?

Bear with me, but I don't quite get what you are saying. Is it that this MF mic is the same mic as a more expensive mic of another name? If so, are the expensive mics that it looks like good. If so, for what? Thanks.

I went looking around the MF and Nady websites to find more info to give an answer to your question and found MORE than I had a clue of knowing so I had to share the info.

But to get to your specific question from your thread, I sure haven't heard it but I think I can be safe in saying: What would you expect out of a $150US multipattern large diaphragm condenser?

Not to mention, with THAT low of a price with THOSE kind of features, I'm not too sure how the QC would be. I don't know who makes that actual model so I can't even make a guess. I at least know it's one of three main Chinese companies or a combo of two.

But please, don't let any of this discourage you or anyone else from going-out and actually listening the thing. That's how "good deals" are discovered!

By the way, you know what I noticed JUST NOW?

No, I never said the Nady SCM 1000 is the same mics as other mics; though really, it MOST LIKELY is, I just don't know which one(s).

I AM saying the grill on the SCM 1000 IS the exact same grill known to be used on BPM mics; and since I know 797 Audio makes at least 3 BPM mic models...

Although, the more I compare the specs. of the Nady SCM 1000 http://www.nadywireless.com/specsheet/scm1000spec.html and the 797 Audio CR414 http://797audio.com/html/product2.htm the more I suspect them to be one and the same, internally; even though the features aren't completely the same. And then knowing for a fact that at least the grill of the SCM 1000 is made by 797 Audio, my suspicion is even greater.

BUT, I AM saying the mics I listed in the "Also:" part are one and the same, internally, with different housings and/or grills.

Now I've said this before but I'll say it again:

JUST because they are the same internally doesn't mean they'll sound the same. It's amazing how just a change of the grill will make a difference in the frequency response. Then there's also the fact that there are always slight revisions being done to things (typical for most companies) so the specs. aren't going to be completely the same; besides tolorences.

So just so you know, there are plenty of other things involved in your final decision besides price and warranty even though they are internally the same mic.
