EMERGENCY! Firepod sp/dif

I have a session tomorrow and it happens that the sp/dif input on the firepod doesn't work anymore. It's been a long time I tried it, but after installing all the new drivers, I select as source : sp/dif and then when I try recording in sonar... NOTHING, not even a noise floor, just nothing...

Anyone knows what is causing this?

Thanks a lot

There shouldn't be a noise floor... It's just digits.

What are you plugging into it? Could there be a clocking issue?

Hi, thanks a lot for helping me out!

I am currently connecting the SPDIF OUT of my kurzweil rumour to the SPDIF IN of the firepod and the SPDIF OUT of the firepod to the IN of the rumour.

There is no noise floor but also when I try to send a digital signal to the rumour, the input doesn't show anything...

Again, thanks!

I'd be supprised that there is a clocking issue. The clock of the firepod is set to SPDIF and the kurzweil rumour is set to 4.1khz, 24bits like the firepod in sonar.

Might you have to specifically enable the input or specifically enable the digital output on the Kurzy?

Hi again,
the kkurzweil outputs automatically digital and analog at the same time...

A well, less then 17 minutes before the session!

Angry FirePod spdif

HI there,I have the same problem with my Pod..
I'm sending digital signal from my boss VF-1 to FP,have enabled the spdif sync from the control panel...I'm clueless..It worked fine with the first driver, but when upgrading(there's a new driver(2.14.25),BTW) the firmware to 2.14,digi in doesn't work no more...
Any ideas what to do?
I'm sending email to presonus tomorrow, but inthe meanwhile...Anyone???

Thanks..

Sounds like you need to either enable the digital output of the firepod, and/or to tell the rumour that the incoming signal is digital (the outputs automatically go to both analog and digital, but you need to select the input type).

Neural_rust, it's sad to hear this.
I have e-mailed presonus, their support is great, but still no one found anything.

I have double checked every technic, and it is a firepod problem for sure because it was perflectly working, in the same setup, before I update the firmware.

If you get some news, or if I get some, just tell me

Thanks

Exclamation Good news

OK,I got it working..the drivers were some how fucked up..but now it's working as it should be...Jason from Presonus informed that the link to the new drivers were wrong..so I downloaded it again, and BOOM...Perfection...

Presonus support rocks bigtime!!!

Get the new drivers ,and its all good...

Bye
