Bad Noise on Channel One Yamaha MD8

When I raise the slider on channel one, man does it get hissy and noisy! Other 7 channels are fine. Also, I wish there were more aux sends, I guess I'll just have to go mono. I have 3 effects units.

It sounds like you have blown the opamp in channel #1. If you have been patching in anything while the phantom power is on, that may have caused it.

Thanks, Yamaha just gave me a RA#, I guess they have a fix for it. I just got 4 different Behringer outboard units and want to "play" with them before I send the deck back to Yamaha

I definately have the same problem, I think someone left the phantom on. I am very interested in what it takes to fix it. I really don't want to send it away, but I guess if I have to. I will.
