help eq-ing vocals on cep 2.1

i'm trying to get a nice vocal sound that sits right in the middle of the mix, the source is sortof tinny sounding and just sounds very out of place and i was just wondering if anyone had advice on settings/etc to make the vocals fit better.

This book I'm reading "Home Recording for Musicians for Dummies" has a nice EQ chart for all types of instruments and vocals. Of course when dealing with vocals EQing is different for each persons voice but I recommend the book. No offense by that as well, I know the name is degrading. I'm not necessarily a dummy when it comes to recording and making music but I've learned some nice tips from the book still.

Anyway. I think duplicating the track two or three times with different settings can accomplish what you want. Sometimes its good to pan one mroe to the left with a certain more of a EQ. Then pan another more to the right with a little of the opposite characteristics EQ wise of the other thats panned to the left. And I would experiment with delays and reverb to try and get the sound right in the middle where you want it Maybe do that before trying to duplicate tracks since its easier to deal with one track then two.

Just some ideas... Also heres another pretty good primer on EQing.

Hopefully that helps some.
