Help on buying new gear
After some research i have decided to buy the following gear for my home studio:
MIXER : YAMAHA MG 12/4 DI Box : BEHRINGER GI100 ULTRA-G (for bass and guitar) Microphone : BEHRINGER XM8500 or MXL 990 (for vocals) 1.Do you think they are ok(i need best value for the money)?Or do you suggest something else(at the same price range)? 2.I am going to record bass, guitar and vocals(not simultaneously).Do i actually need a DI box if i'm going to record directly from the mixer into my PC(w/ SB Audigy2)?And if i don't will there be an audible sound difference? Thanx in advance. |

Theoretically, the DI should go before the mixer. I would suggest upgrading your soundcard too. You are not going to get the best quality out of that SB. What is the total budget you are working with? |

My personal opinion is to skip the mixer and just get a much better soundcard.. even something like the edirol fa-66 has 10 times better converters then your SB card..
