External Burner for the VS 880

Hey. My cousin has a "Plextor" external Cd burner that came with his VS 880 which he purchased off Ebay. The problem is, he dosnt know how to get it to work with the VS 880. Is there anyone here who knows how to get an external burner to work with this recorder?? any help would be appreciated.

Thank You. DS.

Does it show it as being detected on the SCSI port as it scans for drives during boot-up? There should be some messages about the drives that are detected.

hello. Thanks for the reply Zeeb I will get him to check that out. What could be the problem if it isnt detected during start up??? im not 100% sure, but I dont think the burner is being detected by the VS 880. Thanks again.

Scsi Id

The SCSI self ID is 7 in the Disc Parameters by default. So, maybe the CD has that same ID? You have to change the CD or that setting to be different from each other. Each SCSI device including the 880 its self has to have different IDs.
