Recording without a mixer

So on New Year's Eve day, my buddy and Blindfold cohort Darrel and I jammed out and as usual I recorded it. But this time I only used my external pres. This was not so much choice as necessity, because my mixer died on me a few days ago. I had already been recording my drums using my Octane and my DMP3, but the guitar sounded much better to me than going through the Mackie with the same mic I usually use on his Fender DeVille (e609s). Kind of a duh moment, but I think I'm gonna need to get some more pres in here. Maybe even save up for something really nice.

Well, that's been a pipe dream for so long I'm kinda used to it! The audio G.A.S. trumps the video G.A.S. every time AFAIC.
