Behringer BCA 2000 or Edirol UA 25

Dear guys:

Finally the come for me to buy an interface, but should I get Behringer BCA 2000 or Edirol UA 25??

Looks like BCA 2000 have more emphasis on the mic, amp, monitring and various types of input. While UA 25 emphasize more on the low latency for the midi inputs, am I right?

Or they just have similar low latency function?

Really want to know about that.

Looking forward, any reply would be really appreciate.

Thanks!

Kenoir

Latency is primarily a function of the drivers and they both support ASIO drivers. The main difference between the two is the Behringer unit runs at the higher USB 2.0 speed that can be MUCH faster than USB 1.1, provided your computer supports it. The advantages to an increase in speed will mostly be seen on the audio side - USB 1.1 has always been fast enough to cope with midi which is a 31.2 kB serial language.

The other difference is the Behringer unit needs to be externally powered while the Edirol draws power from the USB bus, which would only be a consideration if you were planning to record on a laptop and needed an interface that could be portable.

The last consideration is reliability. I have a simple Edirol midi I/O that's been trouble-free and also have recently added a member of the same Behringer family --- the BCR2000 midi controller --- to my arsenal and it seems to work just fine and seems solidly built.

Thanks for your generous reply by telling their pros and cons instead of pressing one donw and rasin one up because of some reason. I've been waited for very long to see a reply on this.

Thanks a lot.
