jant is on a distinguished road
I was wondering if anyone out there using sample cd's could give me a simple explanation of how you use them? I use Cakewalk and need more sounds and I was thinking of getting a few sample CD's but I'm not sure how flexible they are. Can you edit and manipulate the sound on the cd's to create your own hybrid of that sound and drop them into your sequencer? Any advice or help is appreciated. thanks james

bvaleria will become famous soon enough
Most people use samplers in conjunction with Sample CDs - you load the sample off the CD into your Sampler, then you can use that sound as simply another keyboard patch or midi-triggered sound. It's really cumbersome to try and use it directly off the CD itself and place it where you want, but given the ability to now do digital cut/pastes, it's much easier than in an analog environment!
