Question

I decided to get powered monitors, event 20-20bas. Now they have the ps series 5,6, and 8's. The 8's seem to have the same speakers as the 20-20 bas, but with half the power. By the time you discount both models there is not much difference in price. Is The ps series suppose to be a cheaper monitor or is the 20-20's being replaced.
Thats it !

I have the 20/20 non-powered, chose them over all those PS monitors. I had an amp, but another consideration was the 8" woofers on 20/20, which even PS8 doesn't have, if I'm not mistaken. If you can afford them, get the 20/20bas, they should be even better than the non-powered, because of the crossovers.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents (cdn!)...

My primary nearfields are the PS-6s with an active Tannoy sub, and the combination is absolutely incredible......

PS 8's

The PS 8's as the name implies have an 8" woofer. I A/B'd them with the 20/20 bas. You literally cannot distinguish one from the other by looking at them. They do sound different, however. The PS8s seemed more mid rangey. But we are talking minutae here. And for the price difference (at that time >$150) I decided to go with the PS8's. You can't go wrong either way!
