Return it, get an MPD16, save 100$

Drum pads are just glorified midi keyboards so Pad 1 shoul be C1 (or C0). Just map the 16 pads in cakewalk to whatever drum machine/sampler you are using

You will need to hook it up to a sampler/instrument/something, it does not have any internal sounds

No, it is midi via USB. It is just a midi controller

What do you mean i have to seperate them anyway, i want to play the drums and snares together, it would be way to hard to play those separately and have them make the sequence i want them

Try this

When you record the drum tracks, asign every track according to their instrument.Say you have a kick on one track ,snare on the other and the hi hat.

Now when you record it with midi(trigger finger) record all 3 tracks at the same time. When you are finnished open the kick and erace the snare and a hat from that track. Then open snare and erace the kick and hats, and the same for hi hat.

So now you have 3 tracks playing together like they should.

Thats the only way i can think of.

Or just use the software that was provided with the trigger finger

Well how am i supposed to learn how to use it then if i dont have one, tell me that, sorry Pinachi i dont really get what your saying, i know how to record the drums and snares seperately, but that impossible to match up with the snres if you do it seperately

u know what is mpc? it's a sampler from akai, and it've got 16 velocity sensitive pads on itfor triggering the sounds in different volume according how hard your hit the pad. some artists like dj shadow and kut chemist use it for their show. Set the sampled sound into the sampler, assign the pads, and hit them in "real time".

That was for the performance on a stage, for recording, it give you a better feeling of controlling the beats with your finger rather than using a midi keyboard which are originally designed for triggering piano notes, u play it and record the sound just like you are playing a congo or bongo stuff.

got it?

U don't. That was a suggestion. You record it just like any midi track, 16 pads at once if you want using your prefered sequencer and sampler

I reccomend recording slow (75 bpm or slower for hip hop) and speed it up later

yeah but with FL 5 i only know how to record drums and snares etc. at seperate times, i need to know how to record both at the same time for a good sequence

if i cant record at the same time, then how can i make a sequence that lines up with the drums

not sure if I get totally what you mean, but here's my suggestion:

1 - Practice your control with the fingers on pressing different buttons at the same time.

2 - Use the metronome in fruity loops to help

3 - quantize the stuff (hope I'm giving you the right suggestion of the use of quantize)

Alright, I'm gonna break it down for you guys as basic as I can get,

With my Trigger Finger, I know how to do drums and snares seperately:
So I can do...
Drum..........Drum..........Drum..........Drum

Then I have to do snares to be able to match up with it, which I have to do seperately so it doesnt come out perfect, so it looks like this...

Drum..........Drum..........Drum..........Drum
............Snare....Snare...............Snare........Snare

See how they're not all lined up, It's very hard to make them timed well together if I record them seperately, if I played that they would sound off, now if I could play them together, and have both Drums and Snares on different pads recording at the same time I could get them prefect like this...

Drum..........Drum..........Drum..........Drum
........Snare.........Snare.........Snare.........Snare

See I want them like this^, so that they sound perfect and on time with each other, if there is no way for me to be able to play drums and snares together, then how can I play them so that I can make em timed perfect with each other?

I hope this helps anyone to help me...

Ok now i get it.

Like it was mentioned above,Play to the metronome. Its the thing that beeps when you record your music.Look in the manual and it will tell you how to turn it on.

The second thing is the quantize,Its the button that puts all your messups in line. But its cant do miracles,if you are way off

Hope that helps.
