cubasis

Hi - I wasn't quite sure how to refine a search of the archives...

I'm considering a switch to Cubasis. Any opinions/advice? I just need a basic sequencer that's easy to learn. Thanks

I've used it for some simple sequencing, and it worked fine for what I was doing.

But the Cubase LE bundled with just about everything is better, imo.

It depends on which version of Cubasis you are referring to. Cubasis is no longer produced by Steinberg, IIRC. You'd probably be better off going with one of the newer Cubase versions. Cubase SE (or LE, which is the bundled version with some hardware), is a solid program for <$100. I think it's fairly intuitive, but there is a bit of a learning curve with the software.

What are you using now? For a simple interface, many folks prefer Adobe Audition/Cool Edit or N-Track. Cakewalk Home Studio would be another option.

I tried Cubasis once (it came with one of my Layla 24/96s). To me it felt like a dumbed-down version of Acid. I uninstalled it.

Thanks for responses. I'd thought about Home Studio. I'm using several programs together now including Tracktion which I think is clever but too different fr the usual sequencer format. Cubasis vST4 is the one offered to me & the price is right.
