Cool edit problem...

I have an Emachine with 70GB free.
I have Windos XP.

I have cool edit 2.0

what is happening is the tracks are bleeding together...
1 will go on to 2 and 1 and 2 will go onto 3...

Also there is this red line that goes thru the middle of the track...
I've never had this problem. I just upgraded to a new computer and XP. I used to have windows 98 and never had a problem.
Can anyone help?

Why did you post this here in this forum?

There is a CoolEdit forum a little further down.

Then the sollution is obvious: Get Cakewalk!

(And make sure that you don't record using WhatUhear or similar. Choose the input directly).

Listen to moskus,he is wise. If you're getting a small amount of bleed, it is probably coming through from your monitor when you record your second track (i.e you have a drum track and then you put on headphones to record your guitar track. If you play back the guitar track and hear the drums faintly, you are getting bleed from your headphones and simply need to turn them down.)

If your first track is on your second at full level or near full along with your second instrument or vocal, then your input for the track is not correctly selected.

This is most likely not a problem with your software, but just the way things are set up.
