My latest project is FINALLY done! - Samples inside . . .

OK, after literally years in the making, my latest (and greatest) album is finished

Here's the cover:

It's called "13 Miles".

I tried putting mostly the strongest songs at the beginning of the album, but I really think track number 10 came out the best.

See what you guys think - click the link to stream the song:
Track 10: "Isn't She Wonderful"

Track 2 is probably the most radio-friendly, though:
Track 2: "Something Better"

I've got a store where you can pre-order the CD (it should get back around the 10th of Jan. - and I'm seriously doubting anybody will "pre-order" it before it gets here, but I figured I'd give them the option) and buy mp3's. Single mp3's are $0.99 each and the full album (via mp3) is $8.49. The CD is $10.00 plus shipping.

Link to the store: http://www.brianwahlband.com/store.

What do you guys think of the songs?

I recorded these all in my very modest home studio. I think the sound came out pretty good, considering what I used to make it.

To make this recording related, 99% of the electric guitar tones are a PRS SE Soapbar II through a Line 6 GuitarPort - on the AC30 setting. I also don't own a mic over $150, and I use a PreSonus FirePod.

Good songwriting and arrangement here - it compliments your strong voice and playing. I like the interaction between acoustic and the two electrics.
Did you record/mix this yourself - it's a great mix. Cool man...

Yeah, I did everything but play the bass. The drums are actually clips - Drums on Demand vol. 1. All the singing/guitar playing/recording/mixing/mastering is me.

Thanks for listening and for the compliment!

Excellent, just excellent. I usually try to make at least one critique just to be helpful (or an ass) but I honestly can't find one. nice playing, nice arrangement, nice git tones, and man... I wish I could sing like that. Phew, good work.

Wow, I can find lots of critique when I listen to it - mostly about the vocals - everytime I hear it I think, "man, I'm off-tune there" or "wow, I could have done this or that to make it sound better". I think everybody is their own worst critic, though.

Thank you so much for the compliments! I really appreciate the feedback.

About the guitar tones - I think if you play pretty much any guitar through a Vox Classic 30 (even if it is a line6 model of a classic 30) its going to sound good. U2 and the Beatles sure knew what they were doing when they picked out amps.

So very true. Plus, when you've probably listened to it a billion times, every little "mistake" just starts to piss you off more and more . Ah the joys of recording yourself.

Haha, yeah. Some of these songs - if I hear them again, I swear I'll kill myself (if my wife doesn't do it first).
