Question

What are the best sealed headphoned to minimize leakage to the mics. I think my drummer is going deaf and to get him an acceptable level im getting leakage in the overheads.

First of all, drummers don't need good headphones - they wouldn't know the difference anyway!! I can say this because I am a drummer and avid home studio guy.

Seriously, when I record my drum tracks, I use some cheap pistol shooting headphones from Wal-Mart, into which I have inserted some "speaker" elements from a cheap pair of radioShack headphones. Very little bleeds in and virtually nothing bleeds out. I especially like doing it this way while using the "solo" function on my Korg D16 that allows me to remove the drums from my monitor mix. Much easier to hear the click track and other instruments.

PS. Drums just sound so cool from inside the shooter phones. I can't explain it, it is just so.
