I get ideas occasionally.

If you get 'Uncut' or 'Q' magazine, it regularly contains excellent compilation CDs. Although I haven't heard this HR compilation, I feel certain (having bent my ear to various offerings in the mp3 clinic) that, although it might not reach the audio technical excellence of commercial product, it's easily as interesting.

Point of this post: do you know of any up and coming printed publication which might profit through the inclusion of the occasional CD of original music?

I don't know if this mag reaches accross the big ponds, but Recording Magazine has a monthly article called Readers Tapes where people send in their stuff and they review it. I don't know if they sill do it, but they used to put some of the songs on cd's as examples.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Dobro,

I *think* I know what you're asking...but the question's a little ambiguous. Can you clarify?

Slack, I think dobro is talking about MisterQcue's magazine that deals with strip plugs....and the other one, I think is probably an anti-circumsision periodical...hope this makes things clearer.....gibs

Well, there *was* a bottle of wine in my belly when I posted before. I was wondering if anyone knew of a magazine (music magazine, probably) that would be willing (eager, possibly) to include HR.com compilations with their publication. The magazine pays for the CDs, because it's a gimmick (and a good one) to move more copies. Recordists get exposure that gets way more listening than mp3.com. The insert contains minimal credits for each track, and of course the producer/compiler and mastering engineer are credited as well. Q magazine does it regularly, as does Uncut. Uncut's compilations are better, in my view, because the music's more varied and unusual.

I'm not talking about the present HR.compilation necessarily, but why not? Future ones? Why not?
