KSM 27 32 or 44 for drum

looking for a room mic for recording drums...

hesitating between KSM 27, KSM 32 and KSM 44.

i know there is a big price difference, but what would you suggest is the best PRICE:QUALITY ratio for the use of one of these mics as a room mic for drums?

thanks to anyone with suggestions

usekgb is an unknown quantity at this point
You can use the KSM44 in omni to pick up a good room sound (assuming, of course, that you have a good sounding room). I have one myself, and really like what it does to everything I put it on. The first day I got it, I put it out about 3 feet from my guitar amp, and it sounded exactly lik my amp when I listened back in the control room.

Cheers,
Zach

I own the 32. It's an outstanding mic for alot of different applications. I've heard mixed reports on the 27. I think you'll have trouble finding someone who doesn't think the 44 isn't a solid mic choice for any mic collector!

I've seen Russ Kunkel using 32's live as overheads in a mid-to-large size theater. Sounded great. That's as much as I know about that. Not exactly helpful, I know, but I just thought I'd throw that in.
