really cheap mic?

Hello,

I recently found a 'broken' microphone in the garbage at a rehearsal of my girlfriend. It's a Stagg MD1000, the old one with the silver ball.

I could easily fix the mic so now it's working again, but I was wondering if it is any good . Someone referred to it as a cheap SM58 and commented it performed quite well, but that was on ebay, so I don't know how valid this comparison is.

Anyone have experience with this mic?

thanks,
Karel
