I think kidvibes has one. I have built several Royer moded mics. Mostly V67's and one 2001. I replaced the capsule in one V67 with a 797 capsule (same as a MA-200) and it sounds fantastic to my ears.

...Phil's right again!...I do have one of the earlier Royer/Mojave MA200 prototypes...this one was built by Royer using an ADK A51 body, an ADK Vienna 5-micron capsule and a Jensen transformer...this model preceeded the version sold by Sweetwater (and cost half the price!)...the newer version utilizes a 3-micron capsule, and some additional upgrades (worth $500 more?)...my MA200 sounds terrific...probably my best mic...clean, neutral, natural, un-hyped sound reproduction...no question that David Royer knows what he's doing...
...but if the new MA200 is out of your price range ($1000) I highly recommend looking for a clean used MXL V77 tube microphone (goes for about $200)...also incorporating the 3-micron 797 capsule and a transformer-coupled output circuit, the V77 sounds very similar to the MA200...I have closely compared the two and there's a definate "likeness" of sound...the V77 is also very neutral/natural with a very smooth midrange (not "scooped" sounding, like many of the less expensive Chinese mics)...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
...here's a link to one on Ebay...

kidvybes,
thank you so much for that piece of info!!
i currently use a C1 for my vocals, it sounds ok just a little to thin for my liking.
do you think getting an mxl v77 will improve my vocal sound.(mainly male rock)

**i run thru a trakmaster,and an aardvark q10**
