Weird output issues

Hey all
This might not by the right forum, but there's no Nuendo forum, so...
I'm using Nuendo 2. I have issues sometimes where my signals will come through the wrong tracks. Like if I have two stereo tracks setup, they both have the inputs as 1 and 2, and they're both sent to the master buss, I'll have signal coming in on both tracks, even though only the first track is record enabled, or even if nothing is record enabled. If I mute and unmute track two or fiddle around otherwise the problem goes away. But having this happen for even a second has caused problems, cause it's possible to have spikes like the ones caused by turning on phantom power come through my monitors. Obviously this is not fun. Any ideas?

hey

You'll get an answer shortly I'm sure. The higher-ups are fighting it out in the "Cubase Dongle Crack" thread that some lamer posted.

Are you absolutely certain that you're not forgetting to disable the monitor button on the tracks in question?

It's happened to me a few times.

Sorry if that was patronizing, just trying to help.

Tristan

I've been joining the fray in the dongle crack thread too.

Yeah, I work in tech support on the side, and I know you have to ask the dumb questions. It is definitely not set to monitor when that happens. I'll look at a track next to it that I'm not getting input through, and the settings are exactly the same.

It almost sounds like a hardware issue or an ASIO issue. Either way, I would try reinstalling your card drivers. It sounds like it's hanging when you change tracks. Just a wild stab.

What soundcard are you using??? Some soundcard control panels have an option to check that disables programs from directly accessing the control panels monitor section to prevent feedback loops and so forth. The software attempts to access the ASIO drivers through the control panels settings and override those settings with it's own, but can't do it, so reverts back and forth causing glitchy weirdness. Can't say if this the problem, but I have seen similar issues with a system running Cakewalk Sonar with an M-Audio Delta 1010. Once the Delta was set to ignore requests from the program, and deny it access to the control panel, it was fine (because Sonar now had direct access to the driver's). Just a thought, hope you figure it out.

Thanks guys. I'll have to check some of that out. It's a MOTU 24i I inherited. Any more advice is appreciated, I'm gonna have to try and hunt down the drivers.
