little help in making a clost a booth
me and my friend are turning his closet into a booth. the specs are 4 feet wide and 5 or 6 feet long, 8 feet high. The Air duct is on the ceiling. The only thing i would ask to keep in mind is that he still needs to keep his close in there.

Just keep the closet full of clothes.
Good cheap sound deadening. |

the main think for me is that the door is well ur average clost door with the slots in them so noise goes in and out

Maybee put a matress or something in there to put against the door.....
Companies donate NEW kids beds and stuff to goodwills and salvation arm stores and then like that (tax write offs). So you could probally get some kind of kid mattress for like 10 bucks somewhere. If you can't find one maybee use a heavy sleeping bag or something.... You could probally buy a new kids matress for 20 or 30 bucks somewhere. If none of that works, try to find a used futon or something somewhere (consignment shops, flea markets, yard sale). Spray the mofo down with some disinfectant first though. Even with the disinfectant, I would still be worried about head lice and shit..... I'd call the used matress the last resort.... Sorry that none of theese are very "pro" solutions, but I tend to just wing it myself.

Well, wrap your head up in the sheet and talk to your buddy. If he can hear you, it won't work.
Interior doors are often "Hollow-Core" making them light weight and easy for sound to get through. The matress idea was a good one. Just make sure you get one that didn't belong to a bed-wetter. I'd hate it if I was trapped in a closet sized room with no ventilation and the smell of old wizz. |
