Adhering Auralex Foam Question
I'm in an apartment so I can't adhere studio foam directly to the wall and even if I could I would want to be able to take this with me when I leave. I think adhereing this to the wall is a kind of permanent thing. So anyway, my question is:
How can I hang Auralex studio foam without glueing it directly to a wall and also not ruining the sound control that the foam provides? I was thinking of maybe glueing them to some kind of wood and then hanging the wood on the wall? I don't know. Any suggestions or thoughts... please! Thanks. |

I glued mine to 2x4 sheets of 1/8" thick MDF. You can get the sheets from home depot, near the lumber. You can then hang them like a picture with a wire stretched across the back, or tack two corners directly to the wall with some drywall screws.

Your quotes funny as hell.
But anyway... do you got pictures of yours? And if I screwed through the foam & MDF in the corners would that effect the sound much? |

I used the thinest naile I could find and just use one in the center. You can barely see them and it hardly leaves any damage.

Hopefully the picture thingy works. I moved not too long ago and I haven't installed the panels yet

Get some sturdy twine or nylon string, and thread it through the foam, and you can actually mount the panels on picture hooks. No landlord in the world can object to a few picture hooks!!
Picostudios - if you have a flick through the manual for those Alesis monitors (available online) you'll find that the tweeters are supposed to on the INSIDES rather than the outsides as they are at the moment. The full reasons are explained in the manual ... so swap 'em over!!! Nice foam arrangements, by the way. ![]() Nik
