Reasonably priced adjustable height monitor stands?

I'm trying to find some monitor stands to go along with the Blue Sky ProDesk 2.1 monitors ...

does anyone have any suggestions? [other than the "The Stand" from Blue Sky].

The ones that keep coming up on google look cheap and flimsy.

I'm trying to find ones that look decent, priced decent [under $350 for a pair] .....

any help would be great

GOOGLE search for: studio speaker monitor stands

They are not cheap. On the topic of this thread, does anyone know where to find pictures or plans of the PVC Pipe Monitor stands that someone made?

(Still looking through threads)

does it matter how heavy the unit is?

would a lighter unit cause rattling when the monitor is played on it?

any other suggestions?

Not exactly plans but...

PVC Stands

I built some, worked very well. I used some nice finished shelving from the "As is" department of Ikea.

There is some good info in the DIY thread also.

I have a pair, and for 70 bucks I think they do the job pretty nicely.

Hey, did you prep the pvc pipeing at all before you painted them? And how tall did you make yours? I read in my m-audio manual for my monitors that your monitors should be ear level where your ear is about between the tweeters and speakers.

Also as far as filling with sand (anyone) how much of the tube should I fill? And does this help with sound as well as a weight?

Thanks!

Joe
