Noisy light dimmer switch

do all light dimmers introduce noise in the studio or is there special ones that don't?

Just rewired the studio after a face lift and I was noticing quite a bit of noise from my M-Audio Tampa with a bass plugged into it.....same thing with the V-Amp Pro with a guitar plugged in. Turned the dimmer up to see what the problem was and it got quieter so I turned it down again and it got worse, a LOT worse! Turned it off completely and the noise died.

Any suggestions?
