latency issues with Halion and SX3

I am useing cubase SX3 with halion for drum tracking problem is i have a delay on actual time sound. when I play back it is how I recorded it but when I am hitting the keys it delays. I have my latency turned to 256 in my sound card (taskam us-122) is there a latency adjust in cubase sx3 or halion that i cannot find? Or is it something else?

Latency has to be reduced to less than 50ms for there to be less echo. Most soundcards that have ASIO drivers can achieve latency around 3-6ms. I would recommend that you try to use ASIO drivers for your interface if possible. This is done in the audio options/driver selection.

You may need to try a newer interface.

hmmm lets break this down.....you have roughly $1000 worth of software between halion and SX3...and a what...$200 dollar soundcard?
I think we can do the math here...figure it out on your own.
