OT: Album Recorded With Sonar 2.2 XL

Hey all,

If anyone is interested, I recorded my band's album entirely using Sonar 2.2XL. We were recently signed to an indie label, and the album will actually be in stores around the country and distributed through Universal Music Group.

In other words, I'm in debt to Cakewalk for putting out an amazing product that even chumps like me can use to their advantage! Now, if I can only scrape up the cash to upgrade to 5.0!

Also, thanks to everyone here that regularly imparts their wisdom on these boards. Although I don't post often enough, I've absorbed a ton of free info by lurking. You guys rock.

For anyone bored to hear samples: www.karatehighschool.com

Bill, excellent effort. Sounds really great. Who did the mastering?

Thanks for the feedback from both of you!

The mastering was done by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. He is a totally awesome guy, and has mastered big name projects like The Chemical Brothers, Fall Out Boy, Fleetwood Mac, etc. His website is www.westwestsidemusic.com if you want to check his stuff out.

And thanks for the compliment on the site design - it's what I do on the side for fun.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for letting us check this out...

Cakewalk have a section on their website which talks about artists and the albums they have recorded with Sonar. It might be worth your while to make friends with the marketing people; maybe contribute a nice user story about Sonar and the making of the album.

...and then ask them for the Sonar v5 upgrade for free...
