Rack signal chain order

How should I use these mics in correlation with this signal chain,my board, and Sonar?
Any thougts on the order of these devices in the signal chain would be greatly appreciated. Also any suggestions on the ommission or addition to my setup would be great!
I have just built my 24 channel recording studio using double walls for the drum,console,vocal rooms. I,m waiting for the paint to dry and my wallet to cool off.

I don't understand how you can buy all this stuff and not know how to put it together. I would think that to buy it you'd have to know you needed it, and to know you needed it you'd have to know it's function and what it is to be used for. Not trying to be hard on you, but I don't understand the process that got you to this point.

In any case, if you are recording acoustic instruments like drums, voice, guitar, etc. the signal chain goes thus:

mic > preamp > mixer (or directly to soundcard) > software > monitors

That's the simple version. If you want to stick compressors, eq's etc. into the signal then that would go after the preamp and before the soundcard. You could do that on an insert of the mixer.

I'm not sure how you plan to work, because your gear list indicates you could mix in Sonar (the Tascam 2400), or analog (the Behringer mixer). You also have some analog signal processing, but also certainly Sonar comes with plugins. There may be some redundancy there.

Thank you Sonic Albert. I guess my Quandry would be regarding using this outboard gear for drum tracks. I plan to use plugins for mixdown, but I want to utilize my outboard gear for a balanced drum sound. How would I use, say the preamp/compressor, on multiple channels (kick, snare, overheads, toms) for a consistent, balanced drum sound. I will use the analog board for extensive monitoring for all band members. It seems to be a really quiet signal path, but I am considering ommiting the analog board for control room monitoring.

One way would be to use the MX9000 and route all the drum tracks to a stereo buss and then put the compressor on that buss. So you could use busses 1-2 for the drum buss, for example.

Would an 8 channel preamp be a wise choice for my drum tracks? Under a $1000 would be realistic for me. Any advice on this matter, or any gear that I have listed will be greatly appreciated.
