Any opinions on this head plus a Roc Pro GE-412 4x12 cab? I played it at low volumes at Guitar Center and man did it sound good...you could feel it in your gut. Anyone have one?

I HAD one. I really liked it. For Fender, it was really thick. Never any problems. I still have the 412 cab, but I traded the head for an Ampeg VS100 3 channel tube head. I say go for it and have fun! It's a Fender, you cant go wrong.

Thanks...I'm a big Fender guitar fan (that's all I really play cept for my old Samick) and I never really tried out their amps until recently. I'm just not getting enough...umph...from my Marshall VS100, so I figured I would try an all-tube amp. Very impressive.

The thing's not all tube, unless they changed it in the past year. Mine had a tube Preamp section but solid state power amp. Of course, the tone is determined by the pre's anyways, especially the crunchy part. Look at the back and see if you see tubes besides the little 12ax7 pre's. I'd be interested to know if they changed it.

I'm not really sure...I coulda sworn I read that it was all tube somewhere...and I just noticed they have a Roc Pro combo...which is like half the price. Would I be better off with the 4x12 cab though?

my 2 cents

the roc pro's are NOT all tube...theres one in the preamp that doesnt do shit...i bought one...and it SUCKS BAD ..seriously....i think youd be better off with a "blues deville" for close to the same money as the roc pro half stack...the roc pro i had fell apart past "4" and was really harsh and thin sounding...if i were you id take another listen...for some reason things always sound better at the store

just my opinion
