a bar is one line....so when you hear someone talking about 16 bars, that's 8 rhymes which most people use as one verse.

just follow the snares.
every second snare is the end of a bar, and the down beat right after is the beggining of the next bar.

You're right Johnny, that might confuse a cat. Snare hits shouldn't be used to count bars, what if you have 20 snare hits in a bar, or even just one? I think it is easier to simply count to four (on the beat of the song) if you don't have any rythym you might be assed out! but one...two...three...four.... is a bar (or one measure)

no offense to the creater of this thread...
but seeing as how hes unsure of how to count bars, im assuming hes not rhyming with the speed of twista. i bet its a regular tempo. i was trying to give my advice accordingly.
but, im an asshole, i'll quit assuming stuff.

I wasnt talking about a quick flow...

...but the beats. Their beats are usually at a higher bpm and will have like 2 snares per bar.

Some kats will rhyme at a slow pace on a quick beat (ie: Camron)

dig?

Thats not necessarily true I would think? What if someone skips beats or measures for snares... I've heard it done... Beats shouldn't always be so uniform is my opinion... And I would think that only works if the snare hits every half bar... sometimes they hit a little later or earlier... ???

(edited)
Sorry just seen that someone already said that.
