another cheap bass trap????

another idea for a cheap bass trap in a tracking room:
take a cardboard box and stuff it tight with pink stuff and wrap it in cloth?

would this work (I know . . . 703 etc.... is better), but would it work some?

It just seems so hard to come by this 703, rockwool, mineral wool, roxul etc.. stuff . . so i am trying to be creative with stuff i can get easily

a good old fasioned couch or sofa will eat some bass if you have nothing else. I can't believe you can't get your hands on any of the usual products though.

Where are you in the world?

Big wall of reference books is not only a good bass trap,
but the books come in mighty handy, too....

this company, SPI, carries 703 and rockwool. There is one in Indy. Just call ahead and they will have it ready when you get there.

SPI has it and has decent prices. BUT as many have found out - if it's not local - their shipping costs are very stiff.

Let me make it really easy on you.. Just keep the fluffy fiberglass stuff in the bag and stack it up in the corners.. You could build a false wall out of fabric in front of it. That should work better then a box.

these look like an interesting alternative. don't know how available the tubes are, but they look easy enough to make and install.

later...
